Unrelenting Thrash Metal
Founded in 2012, NIGHTBORN has just recently released its debut album SKYLESS in 2017. The second album UNHUMAN is coming out this month. Inspired by the old school bay area thrash scene, the band tries to bring modern elements and darker melodic sections into its music by borrowing from a range of genres, from doom to melodic-technical death metal. But in its essence NIGHTBORN aims to capture fast and unyielding thrash moments to bang your head to without pause.
Check it out.
Initially started as a one-man band, Nightborn and all its music was created by Arda K. The main musical inspiration came from the old school thrash scene and a variety of other genres. The aim from the start has been to ignite the lost thrash scene in Sweden.
"Skyless" is the first step in this journey.
The album was composed, arranged, recorded and mixed by Nightborn throughout 2016 and 2017. The recording process was so much fun but also painful at times. The final touches, additional mixing, engineering and mastering was done by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden - known for its workd with bands such as Kreator, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity and Sepultura.. The cover artwork was done by Eliran Kantor and additional artwork was done by Maximillian Mende.
Following Nightborn’s first album “Skyless”, the 2022 album, “Unhuman” was recorded, mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studios as well and the album consists of fast, unrelenting thrash metal for the fans of great bands such as Slayer, Testament, Kreator, Sepultura and Exodus with additional dark melodic elements. The whole recording process took a little over two years. All songs were arranged, written, composed and performed by the frontman Arda K. The drum parts were performed by Krimh of Septic Flesh and Decapitated and Behemoth and additional guitar edits were done by Gokalp Ergen, the vocalist of Mezarkabul. Artwork for the album was made by CG Sister and Vo1dgazer.
The inspiration for both albums came from our journeys into the dark depths of the human psyche and the acceptance of evil within everyone. Each song tries to capture in its own unique way different types of darkness that we all have inside.
