About
Formed in 2012, NIGHTBORN focuses on producing melodic thrash metal in the veins of old school sound blended with the style of revival scene. Initially started as a one-man band, Nightborn and all its music was created by Arda K. The main musical inspiration came from the old school thrash scene and a variety of other genres. The aim from the start has been to blend into the revival scene with a new breath.
"Skyless" is the first step in this journey. The album was composed, arranged, recorded and mixed by Arda K. throughout 2016 and 2017. The final touches, additional mixing, engineering and mastering was done by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden - known for its workd with bands such as Kreator, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity and Sepultura. The cover artwork was done by Eliran Kantor and additional artwork was done by Maximillian Mende.
Following Nightborn’s first album “Skyless”, the 2022 album, “Unhuman” was recorded, mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studios as well. The album consists of fast, unrelenting thrash metal with dark melodic elements. The whole recording process took a little over two years. All songs were arranged, written, composed and performed by the frontman Arda K. The drum parts were performed by Krimh of Septic Flesh and Decapitated and Behemoth and additional guitar edits were done by Gokalp Ergen, the vocalist of Mezarkabul. Artwork for the album was made by CG Sister and Vo1dgazer. Three music videos were released from Unhuman.
In 2024, the band released the "Hammer of the Heretic" EP, featuring Simon McKay (Agonist) on drums, Hubert Wiecek (Ex-Decapitated, Dieth) on the bass and producer Remi LeGresley (Grizzly Productions, Canada) was on the edits, mixing and mastering duties. The EP featured fast paced aggressive thrash in the vein of Nightborn style.
In March 2026, the band released a complete re-recording of their first album "Skyless" (Redux), featuring Michel Belenger (Gorguts, Cynic) on drums and Ata Azriquax (Konatus, Zifir, ex-Cenotaph) on bass. The album was mixed and mastered by Remi LeGresley at Grizzly Productions. The inspiration for Nightborn comes from our journeys into the dark depths of the human psyche and the acceptance of evil within everyone. Each song tries to capture in its own unique way different types of darkness that we all have inside.
Currently, hailing out of Berlin, the band will continue to record new material and will be playing gigs in 2026.
